🧪Students  will learn these when this lesson is completed as per lesson plan under IEC-2:
  • Use comprehension strategies to read a passage with meaning. 
  • Use linking words in sentences. 
  • Describe a picture using a descriptive word. 
Teacher : How do you get to know about others ?

By asking questions ! If you want to know something about anything or any person, ask questions like, who, what, when, where, why, how, etc.

Like this, students should ask questions to themselves when they do not understand any text passage. This is very important to understand any text passage.

After the first para is read over by the teacher, some students should ask questions to the teacher, using any of the above questioning words. 
  • Jaya got up early... when ? Jaya got up on Tuesday morning in April.
  • What was lucky thing for Jaya to put on (wear) ? It was red ribbon. 
  • What did Jaya match her ribbons with ? With hair clips and ear-rings. 
  • Did Jaya go to kitchen without the new dress ? No. She put on new dress.
  • Where did the Idli smell come from ? It came from the kitchen. 
  • Why Amma was not cooking the idli and sambar ? Amma was getting ready to go to school; that's why.
Now the teacher asks some students to read the passage in turn and ask some other students to make questions.  

Teacher will explain the comprehension questions and answers in the passage. 

Slide 2 : Explain how an action is told by anybody using the words : am, is, are.

Slide 3-4 : Adjectives : Telling about people and things and animals. Use opposites of words  found in the slide 3-4.
